I’m Matthew Lane, a Melbourne-based designer with a background in graphic design, visual communication and digital media. I combine traditional design skills with illustration, 3D, animation and emerging digital technologies to create visual work with purpose.
With experience across branding, illustration, multimedia and digital design, I enjoy taking an idea from the initial concept through to a finished visual outcome. My portfolio explores the areas I’m most passionate about, with a particular focus on creating distinctive visuals, developing ideas and bringing concepts to life.
The design process starts with a simple sketch to give the idea of what you can expect from the project. I like to sit with
the client so we can nut out the concept together.
This comes in phrases through the block out stage with no texture or colour just base elements. Then each component with texture and colour.
Normally i like to provide render of scene image with two elements and then work our way up. So we can sign off at each stage and dont skip any steps.
